Our Latest Wedding News
times they are a changin':) - Posted: 27 Aug, 2008
So, the past month has been a pretty non-stop time for us:) We celebrated one full year of dating!!! woohoo!!! we have known each other for 3.5 years, hung out for 7 months, and finally started our official relationship on August 6, 2007!!! We are so blessed!!!
Not only did we celebrate our 1 year anniversary that day, but that same day Gabe was offered a new job with a software company called the WERCS!!! We have been praying for increase and provision and just God's direction!! We believe this is His direction! Gabe just started this position this week and is loving it! There is a lot to learn and he will be in training for the first 6 months, but he is up and ready for the challenge:) Pray for him as he pursues excellence in this position:)
Also this month, our best man and Gabe's best friend/cousin, Zachariah, moved to Albany!!! It has been awesome to have him here and with us!!! We love having him around! Life has become even more fun!
On another note, we made a trip to Virginia during this month as the Lord took Jessica's abuelita, Maria Heminia Melendez Del Hoyo, to be with Him in glory. Our trip to see abuelita was precious and a blessing. Gabe and abuelita were able to meet for the first time. Jessica was able to say good-bye and spend some time with her family during this time! Abuela leaves with us the mantle of prayer and intercession! She was an amazing woman and we look forward to worshipping the King of all Kings with her in heaven!
This month has also been full of BBQs and special dinners with friends.. God contniues to amaze us with His perfect provision through friends and family! we are sooo blessed!!!
Coming up and things to pray for: 1. We travel to Rochester to be with Jess' family from 8/29-9/1 to celebrate Jess' brother, Nick, 30th birthday!
We travel to Gainesville, Florida from 9/5-9/7 to visit with the Bell family (Gabe's sister, Jessica, brother-in-law, Dan, and nephews, Mason and Damien!!!) Jess can't wait to meet them all for the first time!!!! Love new family!!!!
Please pray for time and wisdom as we begin to execute even more of the wedding plans.
Please pray for Jess' family as we are all adjusting to the loss of Abuelita.
Please pray that we continue to know, pursue wholeheartedly and fall more in love with each other and Jesus!!

we are only 145 days away from the BIG day and growing more and more excited! It has really begun to hit us that it is near and we are sooooo excited!
This past week...being only 21 weeks away from the wedding has been great! We have heard from even more family and friends that they are tryong to make the trip to the wedding (yay Uncle Joe Rogers (Jessica's side)!! And we have heard from some that they can no longer come ~ Tamu, you will be missed. Please all pray for her nursing exam which happens to be the day before we get married:) Very important! We have also heard from Uncle Ernie and Aunt Linda Neria (Gabe's side)! They too are making efforts to join us in the DR:) We are so so very excited for all of these possibilities as we love you all! Family and friends are so important to us!
Another fun highlight of the week was that Gabe and I (with the generous help of his sister and brotherl-in-law, Dan and Jess, bought tickets to visit Gainesville, Florida! Yay for Jess meeting the family! Dan, Jess (Gabe's sister...hehe...great name) and Mason (their son) are all in our wedding and yet Jessica has never met them!!! We are so excited to be given the opportunity to go and have a great time!!! oh...and let us not forget that Jess and Dan have a recent addition whom Gabe has never even met...Damien!! He is adorable in pictures and we cannot wait to meet him in person! We will be traveling from September 5 through September 7.
The rest of our week was spent at game night's with friends, free movie and coffee night at a local theatre...we saw American Teen:), finalizing wedding shower dates:), hehe..working, working, working and pursuing new job possibilities...and going to a wedding...this is actually happening tonight and we are looking forward to attending our first wedding together! God bless Statia and Derrick's day!

We cannot believe that the wedding is only 5 months away!!! This seems so close, yet soooo far away!!! We are sooo excited at the growing number of family and friends that will be celebrating with us throughout our stay at the Majestic Colonial!!! There are about 40 guests that will be joining us at this point and about 15 more seriously considering the trip:) This is mindblowing and such a dream to us! We are so excited and honored to be joined by so many people that we love! We are specifically staying at the Majestic Colonial from 12/14 through 12/21. There are others that are coming as early as 12/12 and leaving as late as 12/23:) We love the excitement that we hear as we speak to others! Everyone continues to share with us how excited they are for us to get married and how greatful they are to have this opportunity to vacation with family and friends!!! And we can't wait either!!!

Tripadvisor ~ There have been many many amazing reviews of the resort and at this time Majestic Colonial has been ranked #2 out of all Punta Cana resorts...losing the #1 spot by a very small percent!

Almost daily I tell Gabe...we only have such and such amount of days:) It's so much fun! But everytime I tell him the actual number of days he gets so supremely adorable and says, Love, can't you say months...it sounds too long when you say the days." It's adorable because we are both as equally excited and involved in everything going on:)...I guess I only say all of that to tell you all that I always dreamed of partnering with someone...not just meeting a man to have a husband to live with...well, I praise God for Gabe because he is my true partner:) He strives to care about what I care about...and I only hope I make him feel the same way! It's like how the Lord cares about what we care about! It's love...true love:)
Anyhoohoo, I actually only started to write this thing to say...wow, time flies when you're having fun!! Gabe and I have gotten so much accomplished and although we have so much more to do...well, I can only imagine how fastly the day will approach!!! Us and our family and friends celebrating God's goodness and fullness to our lives:)
Pray for us as we prepare! Please pray that we would be faithful with our time, our money, our preparation. Pray that we would grow to love the Lord more and seek Him together! Pray that we would prepare this wedding the way the Lord wants us to and that He would receive all the glory! Pray for each other! That the Lord would do something special as we all join to celebrate purpose coming forth!
